#ClarkWintersession
What do three-time NBA champion-turned-businessman B.J. Armstrong, TikTok executive Nick Tran, and Lauren Lamkin, vice president of communications and public relations at LA2028, all have in common?
Each will make a virtual appearance during Professor Lawrence Norman’s Marketing to You course, which features a star-studded lineup of guest speakers over the next four weeks. The class, taught by Norman ’94, MBA ’95, a former Clark athlete and Adidas executive, focuses on topics centered around marketing to the influential youth demographic.
Each of the course’s six “episodes” will begin with a monologue by Norman (complete with music soundtrack), followed by a guest speaker who will share their real-world experiences with students. After a Q&A session, the class will split into groups to work on a project that will be presented and defended in a “Clark Tank”-style format. Norman’s focus on presentation skills is embedded throughout the course.
Last year, several students landed key internships through the class.
“This school and my degrees have done great things for me, and now I have the chance to give back through this course,” Norman says. “I really love helping the students.”
While most of the speaker sessions in Marketing to You will be closed to anyone other than registered students, a select number of seats will be available to the Clark community. For more information about the speaker series, click here.
