Princeton Review names Clark a best value college

Clark University again has been included in The Princeton Review’s list of “Best Value Colleges,” and appears at number 21 on its ranking of the top 25 “Impact Schools.” The annual guidebook, formerly called “Colleges that Pay You Back,” is a resource for college-bound students — and their families — who are looking for affordable, academically outstanding colleges that prepare students for a successful career launch. The guide includes profiles of 200 schools, chosen from a pool of 656 national colleges and universities.

The Princeton Review profile of Clark cites the Liberal Education and Effective Practice (LEEP) curriculum as giving “students a strong foundation in a traditional liberal arts education while also connecting them with opportunities to apply what they’ve learned through internships, Problems of Practice courses, and a capstone experience.” It also recognizes the University’s Career Connections Center, which helps students connect with “opportunities to explore their cocurricular and professional interests, gain relevant experience, and achieve their personal and professional goals.”

Also lauded is ClarkCONNECT, which brings together Clark students, alumni, faculty, and friends to expand students’ knowledge through internship and networking experiences that prepare them for success after Clark.

The Princeton Review chose the 200 schools for this edition based on a comprehensive analysis of data from its surveys of students and administrators at 656 colleges in 2018–19, as well as PayScale.com alumni career and salary statistics. More than 40 data points were weighted, covering academics, costs, financial aid, debt, grad rates, and career/salary data.

The 25 “Impact Schools” were chosen based on student survey responses to questions covering community service opportunities, student government, sustainability efforts, and on-campus student engagement.
