Clark University’s game design programs have once again been ranked among the best in the world.
Clark’s undergraduate program is ranked No. 3 on The Princeton Review’s Top 50 Schools for Game Design nationwide and beyond, while the master of fine arts program is No. 5 on the list of Top 25 Graduate Schools for Game Design.
Both the undergraduate and graduate programs, which are offered through the Becker School of Design & Technology, are ranked No. 2 in the Northeast.
“Clark University’s Game Design and Development program is ranked among the top in the world by the Princeton Review for good reason,” says Paul Cotnoir, dean of the Becker School of Design & Technology. “Clark’s world-class faculty, cutting-edge curriculum, incredible facilities, and strong industry connections help prepare its students for world-changing careers in interactive media.
“Clark is unique among game design schools in that it integrates game design with business, data science, psychology, and social impact fields like climate change and urban studies, offering a truly interdisciplinary learning experience.”
The Princeton Review chose schools for the 2025 lists based on a 2024 survey of administrators at 150 institutions in the U.S. and abroad. The survey requested information in four areas: academics, faculty, technology, and career prospects. More than 40 survey data points were considered to determine the school selections and tally the rankings. Visit The Princeton Review’s website for more information about the survey and ranking methodology.
The Princeton Review developed this ranking category in 2010 with guidance from a national advisory board formed to help design the project survey and methodology. Advisory board members included administrators and faculty from respected game design programs, as well as professionals from some of the top video game companies.
