Stuart Weitzman, an acclaimed designer and founder of the luxury shoe brand that bears his name, will visit Clark University next month to share his experiences as a lifelong entrepreneur.
Weitzman will present “A Designer’s Entrepreneurial Journey on the Road Less Traveled” on Wednesday, February 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Tilton Hall on the second floor of the Higgins University Center.
The title of his talk is inspired by Robert Frost’s “A Road Less Traveled,” which he adopted as a lifelong mantra — starting when, as a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, he declined a job offer at Goldman Sachs in favor of creating shoes.
“Stuart Weitzman’s experience — in business and beyond — will be particularly interesting to Clark students with a range of interests, from business to the creative arts, technology, and more,” says President David Fithian, whose office is sponsoring Weitzman’s visit. “His story can be a powerful lesson.”
Weitzman has been honored extensively for his unique approach to entrepreneurship and for his uncompromising commitment to prioritizing function as an integral element of fashion.
Please note that video recording and audio capture are strictly prohibited during Weitzman’s lecture. Still photographs are permitted, but no recordings of any kind will be allowed.
