Photo essay: Fierce in red
The Clark community donned their red and packed the stands of the Kneller Gymnasium to cheer on the men’s basketball team in the NEWMAC final.
The scarlet and white, led by Coach Tyler Simms, closed out the regular season with a 19-6 record then clinched its spot in the NEWMAC finals with a 78-70 win over Emerson.
The Kneller Center was rocking on Feb. 24, as the men squared off against Babson in the final. Clark trailed by as many as 16 in the second half before roaring back to bring themselves within six, the run punctuated by dunks from Bruce Saintilus and Quentin Pridgen. But Babson proved too much for the Cougars, prevailing 73-64 and moving on to the NCAA tournament. Saintilus led Clark’s scoring with 20 points; Isaiah Taylor added 11, and Kekoa McArdle had 10 points and nine rebounds.
