Clark renews partnership with Kraków School of Business

Many students travel long distances to pursue a Master of Science in Communication (MSC) at Clark — and this summer, three of those students journeyed more than 4,100 miles to attend classes on campus in Worcester. They are enrolled in a dual degree program at the Kraków School of Business (KSB) and expect to graduate with an MBA from the Kraków school and a communication degree from Clark.

Clark University has operated educational programs in Poland since 2004. Previous programs were located in Lodz and Warsaw; Clark’s current agreement with the Kraków School of Business, part of the Kraków University of Economics, was first signed in 2019 and was renewed this summer.

Clark’s branch campus in Kraków is operated by the School of Professional Studies (SPS).

“Our relationship with the Kraków University of Economics is one of our most programmatic successful relationships that Clark has in Europe,” says John LaBrie, associate provost and dean of graduate studies and international programming. “Our partnership and the collaboration between the two schools adds value to the student experience that would be difficult to replicate outside of this form of bilateral relationship.”

“The Kraków University of Economics is a very strong university, and KSB is a very good partner for Clark,” says Amy Daly Gardner, M.S. ’05, associate dean and director of graduate recruitment, who is a member of the Kraków school’s International Board.

The Kraków University of Economics, founded in 1925, is the oldest and largest school of economics in Poland, and one of the three largest universities in Kraków. It was a founding member of the Erasmus Network of Business Schools and is a leader in student mobility partnerships in Poland.

In July, Kraków University of Economics Vice Rector Piotr Buła joined President David Fithian on the Clark campus to renew the partnership. “We’re committed to this relationship and to further collaboration,” Daly Gardner says.

Also this summer, Professor Katarzyna Sanak-Kosmowska traveled to Worcester to teach Global Communication Strategy, an MSC course. Her visit was funded by a grant from William Mosakowski ’76, given to support the University’s programs in Poland.

The academic offerings on Clark’s Kraków campus are accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
