Clark University has announced that it is working to secure $100 million in new financing to help fund major facility upgrades and new capital projects, all of which are being identified through an ongoing University-wide strategic planning process.
The plans include a new interdisciplinary academic building that will strategically bring together elements of computer science, visual and performing arts, and interactive media arts and game design. In addition to offering new collaborative and classroom space to benefit the entire University, the building will be home to the Department of Computer Science, the Becker School of Design & Technology, and certain programs within the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.
In his announcement, President David Fithian underscored the tremendous opportunity this presents for the University. “In pursuing a bold program of significant new investments in Clark, we are firm in the belief that our institution is a special place, that we are all a part of something worthwhile and important.” Fithian said. “I am extremely proud of the ambitious path we are pursuing for Clark and the clear momentum already underway.”

In order to further the University’s commitment to strenuous environmental goals, Clark intends to issue a portion of its upcoming bond offering with a Green Designation, which signals to investors that Clark will meet the rigorous standards for environmental benefits as set forth by the Climate Bonds Initiative.
