Clark University released the following statement on June 5, 2021:
We were saddened to learn that former Clark University Police Officer Enmanuel “Manny” Familia died in the line of duty as he tried heroically to save a teen who had fallen into Green Hill Pond. Now a member of the Worcester Police Department, Officer Familia served Clark honorably from 2014 to 2016. Known for his big heart and big smile, he was dedicated and carried out his work with compassion. We are proud to call Officer Familia a Clarkie.
We extend deepest sympathies to Officer Familia’s family, friends, and former Clark colleagues.
