Clark psychologist: Strengthen relationships with a gratitude journal

The pandemic has taught us the value of personal relationships and the importance of staying connected, even virtually. Parade.com compiled “97 Ways to Show Someone You Genuinely Appreciate Them,” gathering tips from a wide range of experts, including James Cordóva, professor of psychology and director of the Center for Couples and Family Research at Clark University.

Cordóva suggests creating a relationship gratitude journal. “Notice what your partner does every day to care for you and your family, and write it down,” he says. Writing in your journal at the end of the day is a powerful practice — as is opening up emotionally to your partner, and encouraging them to do the same.
