Change in the world around us can be stressful, yet it can present new opportunities for positive personal and professional development, according to David Hosmer, a professor at Clark University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS).
In his presentation, “The importance of establishing a routine in a new climate,” Hosmer provides strategies and tips for handling stressful changes. He outlines how we can change our lives through our daily actions, discussing topics including:
Hosmer recommends that we take time to check in with ourselves, create new routines before we are forced to adapt on the fly, and reduce stress by focusing on the things we can control.
“This is really about leveraging routines,” he says, “and leveraging our environment as an opportunity.”
