Clark University’s A team earned first place at the third annual Cougar Classic Invitational Mock Trial Tournament held Nov. 23–24 at Clark. Twelve teams from 10 colleges competed in four 3-hour rounds with two judges per round. The judges were recruited from the legal ranks.
The A team took home the title with an 8-0 record, beating teams from Amherst College, La Salle University, College of St. Rose, UMass Lowell, and the University of Connecticut. Colleen Falconer ’22 won a Best Attorney award, and Emily Abbott ’21 and Noah Rowan ’23 won Best Witness awards. Other team members were Jordan Blocher ’21, Alex Gullotti ’21, Owen Mortner ’22, and Will Mahan ’23.
Clark’s novice B team faced the University of New Hampshire, the University of Connecticut, and Bryant University. B team members were: Julie Reed ’21, Aaron Wolfson ’21, Erin Mouradian ’23, Jeff Rivard ’23, Rachael Howe ’21, Glory Phipps ’23, Martin Vernet ’23, Josie Fitzgerald ’23, Jillian Grande ’23, and Will Jordan ’23.

Earlier in November, the Clark University Mock Trial A team came in third place at the University of New Hampshire invitational tournament, defeating two teams from Colby College, and tying teams from MIT and UMass Amherst. Falconer won a Best Attorney award and Rowan won a Best Witness award.
