Clark University announced today it has surpassed the original $125 million goal of its comprehensive campaign, nearly two years earlier than anticipated. The university plans to continue Campaign Clark through May 31, 2020, the original timeline, and build on the momentum that has been generated by a widespread contingent of donors committed to supporting the Clark educational mission. To date, more than 14,533 individuals and organizations have given to Campaign Clark.
“I am deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors,” said Clark President David Angel. “We’ve asked our community to help advance Clark’s research and teaching excellence, building on the historic foundations and strengths of our university as we expand our mission to be a force for positive change across the globe.
“We are repaying our donors’ commitment with our own pledge to ensure every gift has the greatest possible impact. The campaign allows us to provide the kind of transformational experiences that inspire our students to pursue lives and careers of consequence in a world that needs their talents and leadership.”
Campaign Clark, the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the university’s history, had its public launch in May 2017. Campaign funds are being used to support student scholarships, endow professorships, advance innovative research and creative endeavors, improve facilities and academic programs, and grow the university’s endowment, which not only is critical to providing robust student aid, but also supports numerous initiatives.
“The Clark community’s support for Campaign Clark has been overwhelming,” said Jeffrey Gillooly, vice president for university advancement. “Every gift of any size is important. Alumni, parents, friends, staff, and faculty have all come together in support of this critical effort to raise resources for our future. We have more work to do, but I know so many others stand ready to step forward and raise Clark to even greater heights.”
