The mission of the Clark University Alumni Association Board is to motivate, inform and engage Clark’s 30,000-plus alums to collaborate with current students, faculty and administration staff to ensure a thriving University community. The Board is composed of members who serve with passion.
Leo Velasquez ’86, who works as a vice president for IT Automation at State Street Corporation, led the board as its president for the past three years. During his tenure, he drove efforts to add volunteers to both the Executive Board and Nominating Committee and create a cohesive, stronger organizational structure to support alumni engagement.
On Saturday, May 21, during festivities at Reunion 2016, the Alumni Association installed Ingrid Busson-Hall ’96 as its next president and Dr. Hope Aryeetey ’98 as president-elect.
Ingrid received a B.A. in government and geography, summa cum laude, and earned her J.D., cum laude, and a Master of Studies in Environmental Law, magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School in 1999. The former executive director for the Legal and Compliance Division at Morgan Stanley, she recently joined PayPal as senior director for financial regulation.
As president, Ingrid will focus on creating stronger leadership and engagement opportunities for alumni, and on strengthening communication between the Alumni Board and the Clark alumni community worldwide.
Hope is a public health, medical and scientific expert who works as a consultant at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in the therapeutic treatment areas of oncology, hematology and rare diseases. She is also an adjunct professor at Monroe College King Graduate School and a former member of the board of directors at the AIDS Center of Queens County.
