Two newspapers this week featured Clark baseball players James Conway ’16 and Kyle Bonicki ’18 for their impressive seasons on the diamond for the Cougars.
The Daily News (Newburyport, Mass.) highlighted Conway’s contribution to the team’s program record for most wins in a season. A senior captain, Conway, who will continue in a fifth-year accelerated degree program in the fall, offered advice for high school students and reflected on his time playing for the team.
“Looking back, the biggest accomplishment was setting the right kind of pace and tone for future kids,” he said.
A Republican-American (Waterbury, Conn.) article discusses how Bonicki “searched for a baseball program that would offer him an opportunity to play and a business education that he hopes to use some day to start his own recruiting service.” After transferring to Clark, Bonicki said he found the right fit.
“I definitely wanted to play right away and make an impact. … I fell in love with the school, and [the team was] coming off a couple tough years. I knew I wanted to be one of the reasons the program turned around,” Bonicki told the paper.
