The Clark University campus was alive with activity last weekend as students welcomed more than 700 visitors for Family Weekend 2015. From spontaneous selfies with Freud to bus tours to the Worcester Art Museum, students and their honored guests took advantage of all the campus — and city — had to offer.
A featured event at this year’s Family Weekend was a presentation by Charlie Bresler, M.A. ’83, Ph.D. ’84, about his shift from business to philanthropy. The former president of Men’s Wearhouse, Bresler co-founded The Life You Can Save, an advocacy and educational outreach organization to raise awareness for the more than one billion men, women, and children who live in extreme poverty.
Joanne Darrigo, associate director of Student Leadership and Programming at Clark, said she received a lot of positive feedback from families who attended. “Family Weekend was a huge success, and it is entirely because of the staff and faculty who were present, hosted, or presented,” she said.

The weekend’s other planned events included sessions on study abroad, diversity, the Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise, and athletics, along with a tour of the Clark Dining kitchens. Participants also played bingo for big prizes, cheered on the Cougars at multiple games, and got their hands dirty in the Community Garden.
Popular bus tours of Worcester were led by Jack Foley, vice president for government and community relations at Clark, and Micki Davis, director of community engagement.
