Former Air Force flight surgeon, dynamic speaker, and author of “Live Long, Die Short: A Guide for Aging Successfully,” Dr. Roger Landry will address one of the fundamental social and public policy issues of our time, in a public lecture titled “The Imperative of Successful Aging: Implications for Policy,” beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, April 21, in the Grace Conference Room of the Higgins University Center, Clark University, 950 Main St.
A reception and book signing will follow this free lecture, which is sponsored by the Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise, at Clark University.
Dr. Landry has seen the future, and it is good. It is a future of tens of millions of Americans living long, healthy, and satisfying lives after retirement, one where we avoid squandering hundreds of billions of dollars on health care and lost productivity. This future will only come to pass, however, if Americans embrace and practice what Landry calls successful aging, a combination of individual behaviors and societal choices that promote health, well-being, and independence.
Trained at Tufts University School of Medicine and Harvard University School of Public Health, Dr. Landry is the president of Masterpiece Living, a group of experts dedicated to changing public policy to enable successful aging.
