Clark students recognized, present at Ethnic Studies Conference

Five Clark University students and two faculty members attended and presented at the 40th annual conference of the National Association for Ethnic Studies (NAES), held April 4-7 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Elizabeth Guarino ’13, an English major, won the Cortland Auser Undergraduate Student Paper Competition for “The Impacts of the ‘Ethnic Studies’ Law on the K-12 Public Educational System in Tucson, AZ.”  Paris Prince, M.B.A. ’13, won the Graduate Student Paper Travel Award.

Guarino and Prince, Lavar Thomas ’13, Caitlin Fleck ’12 and Rian Watt ’14, along with Clark political science professors Ravi Perry and Ora Szekely, attended and presented at the conference. The group received funding from several sources to travel to the conference, and significant support from the Political Science Department.
