Clark University cited by Kiplinger’s as top-50 ‘Best Value’

October 28, 2010

Clark University is among the top 50 institutions named as the nation’s Best Values in Private Colleges for 2010-2011 by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, a ranking of the “top schools that exemplify excellent academics while keeping their costs to a minimum.”

Clark stands at No. 36 on the “Best Values” list, which Kiplinger’s selects from data collected on more than 600 private institutions. Also included in the top 100 list this year are Princeton (No. 1), Stanford (No. 12), Tufts (No. 27), and Boston University (No. 49).

The annual Kiplinger 100 rankings are published in the December 2010 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, on newsstands Nov. 9.

Clark has consistently appeared on Kiplinger’s “Best Values” list, which is selected from a pool of private institutions provided by Peterson’s, an education content provider and publisher. Schools on the Kiplinger list were ranked by academic quality and affordability—with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total. Because liberal arts colleges focus on undergraduates and universities include graduate students, Kiplinger’s divides the schools into two categories. The ranking process factors in both the data and the results of Kiplinger’s reporting.

Earlier this year, Clark also appeared among the top 50 schools named by U.S. News in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” category of its 2011 edition of “America’s Best Colleges.”
